Hurla Post #5

What's the first place you go to when connecting to the internet?

While your answer may be Facebook or Myspace, I have a feeling that if it's anything else, you probably start with Google.

When connecting to internet, I start with Google Chrome. I really like the features of Google Chrome. As I open up a new tab I'm able to see my eight most visited sites and go to one from there. The browser is able to be customized to my liking and I think it runs faster than Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Besides Google's new browser and other services Google offers, the search engine itself is what Google is mainly known for. Bing and Yahoo are other search engines, but they don't always add up to what Google has to offer.

I personally believe Yahoo isn't given enough credit for their site. You can access news, trends, and even Yahoo! sites to browse around.

Bing seems more similar to Google, but has more design and could even have more specific options to narrow down your search.

Basically, Google is all about simplicity. I don't know if one of these search engines is a clear winner compared to one another though. Depending on what you're searching for, the reason why you're searching, and the quality of information you wish to find I think that you wouldn't use the same search engine for all of these. It truly depends on your own personal taste.

Google is definitely the most known, so I can see why people usually view Google as superior.

With everything being said, for the next week I'm going to incorporate Bing and Yahoo and use them just as much as I use Google. By doing this, I will find out which searches work better and at the same time, be able to give more credit to Yahoo and Bing. I encourage everyone else to do the same as well!
